Bringing horse and rider, back to the same ground.

What are the benefits?

Just like us, our equine partners will perform and feel better when they are more flexible and agile. As the horse’s muscles become more supple, the wear and tear on the joints, ligaments and tendons reduces, equating to an increased range of motion and a longer performance life.

Massage can not only improve all of these aspects but can also influence overall well-being and performance. By improving the circulation through massage we can aid the horse in healing and stimulate the elimination of waste products.

Massage can also aid in decreasing tactile defense in your equine partner. That horse that dislikes having his ears touched may in fact be having pain in their neck, the horse that dislikes having their girth area touched may be having pain in their back or shoulders all of which may be relieved  as the muscles are massaged, stretched and healed.

Conscious contact and emphasis on gentle touch while working with each patient builds higher levels of trust and confidence.

“I was referred to Bailey at Wild Iris after my 28 year old gelding showed sudden onset of uncoordinated gait and balance, with severe spinal pain and muscle discomfort. He then developed pneumonia. He could not even step up into the trailer. My vet office administered pain meds and recommended Trouble be seen ASAP by Bailey for treatment. She treated him several times, with noticeable gradual improvement in his discomfort, gait, and balance after each treatment. Bailey is professional, knowledgeable, and skilled and I would not hesitate to use her again if I need to. She is thorough and assessed Troubles problems accurately and communicated her findings to me in terms I understood. Her dedication and compassion for her equine patients is obvious. She is very kind and Trouble is doing a lot better because of her!”
